McKinney Soccer Association is hosting The McKinney Spring Classic Soccer Tournament to be played at the Craig Ranch Soccer Complex for U5-U14 recreational teams. All teams must be registered with NTSSA. Tournament/All Star and academy recreational teams will not be accepted. We will have age pure divisions for all age groups if there are enough teams available, if not teams will be merged into even numbered age groups. All teams are guaranteed a minimum of three games. U5-U8 receive participation awards and will not advance beyond preliminary games. Three guest players are allowed with proper paperwork. The tournament will be played under the NTSSA tournament rules (see Chapter 8 of these NTSSA rules). See game format for different age groups below. We will be using the same modified playing rules per our spring 2008 season playing rules grid (See rules & bylaws menu).
Team Registration: May 16th 2008 **REGISTRATION DEADLINE**.
The following is needed by May 16th to register:

▪ Spring 2008 roster signed by your home association registrar (we will provide the McKinney team rosters)

***GUEST PLAYER DEADLINE*** Friday May 23rd (Fax 972/548-8322 or mail to MSA)
NTSSA guest player release form -if applies, must be correctly completed (signed by parent, releasing and receiving coaches and home association signature (registrar) Guest players must be registered with their home association. (MSA non-rostered/registration, guest player fee is $25.) Players registered as academy/competitive players only, are not allowed to guest player in this recreational tournament.
Coaches must first invite all players on their current team and a guest player’s team cannot be playing in the tournament. Guest player forms must be turned in by Friday May 23rd-no exceptions. Guest player forms will not be accepted on game day.
All guest players must have a number on the back of their jersey, t-shirt or pinney. Maximum 3 guest players per team.
Tournament Check-In: Wednesday May 28th 10am-8pm
Each team is required to check in prior to their first game. This must be done at our MSA office, Wednesday May 28th, 10am-8pm. All teams must check-in on this date (this includes MSA teams.) Out of town teams that cannot check-in on May 28th please call our office for check-in instructions.
The following is required at check in:
▪ Signed NTSSA regular season medical forms or tournament medical release forms for all players playing in the tournament (rostered and guest) - does NOT need to be notarized.
▪ Tournament rosters which will be verified, stamped & used as game reports. U5-U8 must have 3 copies and U9 & Up must have 5 copies. Guest players must be shown on the tournament/game day roster. Jersey numbers for all players must be on the roster.
▪ NTSSA coaches ID cards from home association.
Game Format:
Games will be played Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. U5-U6 games play 3v3, U7 play 4v4, U8 play 6v6, U9 8v8 and U10 play 9v9. U11 and up play 11v11. U8 and below do not advance.
For U9 & Up, each team must give the referee a copy of the stamped, approved tournament roster(acquired at check-in) - the referee will turn the form into the tournament tent after the game. The home team will be required to change jersey's if the referee finds there is a color conflict. All players and coaches listed on the roster will sit on one side of the field and all spectators will sit on the other.
Tournament Refund Policy:
Any team that cancels or withdraws after the May 16th deadline will not receive a refund. If inclement weather cancels the tournament prior to the first scheduled game, all teams will receive a refund equal to 50% of their entry fee. If inclement weather cancels the tournament after scheduled games have started, no refunds will be issued.
